He was a Right Shoulder Shave. The litter of 9 puppies included 2 black males, Macklin and Merlin, 2 yellow males, Monaco and Mykonos, 1 yellow female, Mystic, and 4 black females: Malta, Matcha, Mel and Moonlight.
Macklin is a Gaelic name (Scots/Irish) with the popular meaning of “Son of Flinn”, where Flinn was the ruler of the Irish kingdom of Ulaid in the North-East which included the now capital city of Belfast. Another possibility is that it was derived from “Mac” meaning son of and “Giolla Eáin” the name of a numerous and powerful clan in the western Highlands of Scotland, whose patrimony from a remote period was the island of Mull. Some of this race settled in the 17th century in the North of Ireland.
