September 26, 2009 marked the date for the seventh annual Support Our Canine Heroes Wine Gala benefitting Guide Dogs for the Blind. This event helps cover the veterinary costs for GDB’s canine heroes. Annually, GDB incurs $3 million in veterinary costs for the 4.200 puppies and dogs throughout the UNited States and Canada. This year’s Gala raised over $425,000.
L.A.Southwest members and guests enjoyed the Gala which was held at the Historic Carriage House at Charles Krug Winery. Guest speakers were Fred and Maile George, with Flanders and guests of honor were Captain and Mrs. Chesley Sullenberger, breeder keepers, puppy raisers and supporters of GDB for 17 years.
