This year’s Fun Day, “Cirque de Guide Dog Puppy”, was hosted by San Diego County puppy raising clubs and was held on Sunday, April 19, 2009.
In the stations area, raisers and puppies could take part in activities intended to introduce young dogs to a number of unusual situations. Stations including Distractions (noises, smells, and other curious things), a police car complete with siren and flashing lights, a health check and handling area, Surfaces (grates, plastic surfaces, wooden slats), a full size city bus, and Carnival Row where the puppy is expected to remain calm and obedient.
L.A. Southwest members and pups thoroughly enjoyed the day, the BBQ lunch, and even took home a few items from the opportunity table! Many thanks to San Diego County clubs for a festive day.
